Science Festival at Antwerp ZOO from 31 October to 8 November 2026
During the autumn holidays, we’re turning Antwerp ZOO inside out. Discover what happens both in front of and behind the scenes to care for, understand and protect animals.
What’s on the menu? How does an animal choose a partner? How do we keep our animals healthy? What do we store at -80 °C? What do our scientists study? How do research and science help animals here and in their natural habitats? And what can a feather, a little bone or even a pile of poo tell us?
Try, play, investigate, look, feel and experiment. Dissect an owl pellet, peer through a microscope, step into a vet’s shoes, join in the games and ask our experts your questions. There’s something to do and discover throughout the ZOO.
From curious little ones to inquisitive adults: there are activities and challenges for different ages. Because science isn’t just something to watch. It’s something to experience for yourself.
ZOO Binnenstebuiten is free for all visitors with a valid admission ticket or membership. The Science Festival takes place entirely indoors.
